4 months!!!

Can you believe we have a 4 month old?! Nolan had his 4 month appointment today. The pediatrician says he's in perfect health! She doesn't hear the murmur anymore (Momma never heard it...), yay! And he is growing perfectly too! Here is his 4 month update:

Weight- 14 pounds 10 ounces- 50th percentile
Length- 25inches-50th percentile
Diaper size- still size 2
Clothes size-mostly 3-6 months, but some 6 or even 9 month stuff
Eye Color as of today- dark blue still
Hair Color as of today- I think he has more...but still has the dark brown patch in the back and on top it looks more blond
Food- still eats 5-6 times a day, no solids yet
Sleep- Nolan now sleeps 11-12 hours at night!!! We put him down between 6 and 630 and he sleeps until 6 or 7! Sometimes he will wake up to eat around 5 but then goes right back to sleep until 7 on the dot! He normally naps 3 times a day, for 45minutes to an hour and a half. He loves his sleep!!!
Favorite things- Nolan started loving his toys this month, he loves his blue ball and frog the most! Still loves his exercauser, talking to and singing to Mom and Dad, he loves to listen as much as he likes talking (so polite!). He loves to be outside, we walk or stroll or simply sit outside he loves to look at everything and listen to all the different sounds.
Nickname- Nole (for the record, I did not want to call him Nole before he was born. In fact, I didn't think he needed a name that could easily be made a nickname, but honestly we just started calling him Nole and it suits him, thus that's his nickname as of today.)
Sweet relaxed smile, he's pretty laid back most of the time (another thing he got from his Daddy)

4 month old! Big boy!

Sitting up in the BOB

One of his favorite toys

Sweet new summer shoes

Trying out the Johnny Jump (Oscar is always supervising in some way or another...)

Other favorite toy, his frog (which we called a monster for the first 3 months of his life)

Update

We have been busy! This is my second week back to work, Nolan's second week at The Peanut Gallery, and we have been busy adjusting! Everything is going well though! I still remember how to be a nurse and Nolan is enjoying meeting new friends and new teachers at his center! Here are some pics of his life recently:

Watching some March Madness with Uncle Al

More March Madness

Out to lunch with the girls and Baker on St Patty's Day

Visiting our friends Miss Amy and Mason (Mason's bouncer is much more exciting than ours!)

St. Patty's Day outfit

Practicing sitting up with the help of the bop

Lots of tummy time still, Nolan's teacher is amazed at how much he likes tummy time  ;)

Everything goes in the mouth....

Loving the view from the side these days, he gets this way allllll the time!
More to come! We go to the Pediatrician this week for more shots and a check up, I will post more then!

New Trick

Somebody learned a new trick! It happens at night, here is a re-enactment (I do not have real-time pics because the first rule of motherhood: never wake a sleeping baby!):

This is the direction I put Nolan down to sleep.

This is often the direction I find him in the morning.

If he has not completely flipped direction at night, I find him way down in the bed with his feet on the rails!

Storms

I am a worrier. Always have been, always will be. I get it from my Grandpa Ward, he was always a worrier too. I have gotten better over the years and can talk myself down a lot, but it's still a part of who I am. However, I have never been scared of storms, okay maybe a little scared in the moments when storms are close, but I have never worried about them. It was the one thing I knew there was absolutely nothing I could do about it. Plus my Mom taught me from a very young age how to count the miles away a storm is based on lightning and thunder, thus I felt pretty in control.

Well my friends, like everything else in my life, this has changed since bringing Nolan home. As I type, we are expecting some nasty weather this afternoon in our area, and I am on high-alert! I have been tracking this storm since yesterday afternoon, I have already set up our "safe place" with diapers, wipes, water and snacks, and told Eric where we would be, just in case. I will have you know, I have never hid from a storm before, ever. However, I am certain from 2-6 pm today, you will find me, Nolan, Lily, and Oscar huddled in the innermost closet of our condo just waiting out the storm. I am also certain our next house will have a basement! Everyone stay safe!!

P.S.- You will all be happy to know, our sweet, smiley baby has returned, he came back to us yesterday! I am hoping it was all growth spurt induced behavior, now that he is full and well rested he is a happy camper! Thank you all for your kind words and suggestions!
