Today has been a tough day for Momma Tinch. No, nothing major has happened, in fact I feel bad even mentioning my day when there was a tornado that affected parts of the Midwest but, one of the purposes of having a blog is to have an outlet to whine, right?! Glad you agree!
It's Nolan. He has been incredibly grumpy the past few days. In fact, he has been downright demanding. More tantrums the last few days than his entire life combined! I realize up until now, there really haven't been many tantrums, and maybe that's the problem, since we haven't had to deal with them, we have no idea how to deal with them (as always, comments and suggestions are welcome)!!! I am hoping this can all be attributed to a growth spurt, the child is simply not consolable unless he's eating. Anyway, days like these are tough for a Momma, especially when it is nasty outside and we can't get out of the house! On days like these I am thankful for friends who are always supportive, have been in my shoes, offer advise, and a light at the end of the tunnel! I am also thankful for my husband who told me it was okay to open a bottle of wine before he got home! Cheers-to a better day tomorrow!!
Hope you've had a good day today! Maybe because it was a leap day! Love you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate, today was sooo much better!
Deletehave you tried an earlier bedtime? between 5 and 6? that cured Heidi's new crankiness at 3 months.I also just saw it on a local google group where other moms said the same thing. so it worked for others besides me!
ReplyDeleteWas it a temporary earlier bedtime or does she still go to bed that early? Nolan already goes down between 630 and 7 (sleeps til 5ish, eats and sleeps til 7-normally), also did/does she nap? Nolan naps often still but not for very long stretches (30min-1 hour), I don't know if this matters or not, the sleep book is a little vauge about naps/sleeping at his age...
Deleteat 9 months, she still goes down at 530/6. wakes at 4/5. sleeps till 6/7 (or when Lydia wakes her up). yea, the book is vague in that age. Heidi takes two naps. 830-10 and 1230-3. give or take. sometimes we scoot her to 8 and wake her at 9 when we have to be somewhere (church on Sundays), but then her naps on Monday are really long. so, yes, she sleeps a lot. but so did Lydia. but it's also in tune with healthy sleep habits. so whatever that's worth. hope it helps some. =)
